WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) – The Kansas Highway Patrol has identified the three people killed in a crash on K-96 on Friday night.
The patrol says just before 7:30 p.m., a 2014 Dodge Durango was eastbound in the westbound lanes of K-96 near 13th when it collided head-on with a 2019 Ram 1500. The impact caused the Ram to spin around and strike a third vehicle, a 2011 Ram 2500.
The Ram 1500 was engulfed in flames and came to rest on the north shoulder of K96 on its wheels. The Dodge Durango came to rest in the first lane of westbound K96. The impact from the second vehicle into the third vehicle, the Ram 1500 into the Ram 2500, caused the trailer to be torn off the hitch.
The Ram 2500 skidded across the median and came to rest on eastbound K96, facing east. The trailer came to rest on its side in the north ditch.
The driver of the Dodge Durango, 48-year-old Amanda Fleming of Wichita, was pronounced dead at the scene. Fleming was the only occupant of the Durango.
The driver and passenger of the second vehicle, 31-year-old Randall and 11-year-old Eli Henrickson, also died at the scene.
In a statement on social media, Rose Hill Schools USD 394 said they are deeply saddened by the loss of 5th-grade student Eli and his father.
“The USD 394 Rose Hill Schools family is devastated by the heartbreaking loss of one of our 5th-grade Intermediate School students, Eli Henrickson, who tragically passed away in a car accident Friday night along with his father, Randall.
This has brought great sorrow to our campus and has impacted many in our community.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the student’s family and friends.”
An online fundraiser has been set up to support Eli and Randall’s families and pay for funeral services.
“This boy was such a sweet and kind soul and so full of life,” the fundraiser reads. “ I cannot convey the pain that our family and the family of his father are feeling right now. Our children have lost a sibling. My wife and I have lost her youngest son.”

Sedgwick County dispatch says the crash happened around 7:30 p.m. Three people were pronounced dead at the scene and three others were treated for minor injuries.
The crash remains under investigation by the Kansas Highway Patrol. No further information has yet been released.
